Academic Coordination Unit
Introduction
The Academic Coordination Unit is responsible for facilitating the educational process in the English Language Centre and providing all the information, data, and statistics to the director of the Centre in order to make appropriate decisions.
Vision
Quality academic services for students and instructors to cater for high quality English language programs for students in various faculties.
Mission
Provide students and instructors with quality academic services that contribute to the overall ELC mission in preparing students to undertake English-medium instruction in their relevant fields of study.
Goals
Provide students with quality academic services that help them achieve quality learning.
Provide instructors with quality academic services to help them offer students with quality learning opportunities.
Responsibilities
Channeling information for all units to teachers in a timely manner.
Assuring teachers’ timely and appropriate implementation of all planned curricular and assessment procedures.
Taking appropriate disciplinary measures against teachers who do not follow the center’s or university regulations.
Overseeing the delivery of classes.
Facilitating the work of all units in relation to teachers and classes delivery.
Selecting courses’ coordinators, facilitating their work, monitoring and evaluating their progress.
Participating in the annual evaluation of teachers in collaboration with the unit of Faculty Affairs.
