About Tahani Alosaimi

I hold an MA in curricula and methods of teaching English from Taif University. I have been teaching English for three years at TUELC. I hold a BA in English language from Taif University. I just obtained my MA in applied linguistics from The University of Queensland. My research interests focus mainly the language learner as an individual within a sociocultural framework. I’m particularly interested in studying the development of L2 learners’ inner speech from a sociocultural perspective. MA thesis explored Saudi ESL learners’ perceptions towards the role of inner speech in English learning. I also plan to further investigate L2 inner speech in my PhD study. My other research interests include: students’ uptake of teacher’s feedback, second langauge acquisition, and the sociocultural framework for L2 learning and teaching
