Introduction

Professional development is one of the most prominent features of any educational institution. This is the reason why professional development of our teachers lies at the core of the action plan of Taif University English Language Centre (TUELC).

The vision of the Professional Development Unit is to empower TUELC faculty to be the best in their field.

Mission

The mission of the Professional Development Unit at TUELC is to provide supportive PD opportunities for TUELC teachers, admins and staff, and to foster their professional growth to promote effective professional practices at TUELC.

Goals

Goals

To design and execute a professional development plan that is aligned with TUELC vision and mission.

To direct, support, and foster the professional growth of TUELC faculty, administrators, and staff.

To assess and evaluate the training needs of TUELC faculty, administrators, and staff.

Award and recognize the outstanding efforts of TUELC faculty, administrators, and staff.

Responsibilities

Planning and implementing all professional development activities at TUELC.

Evaluating periodically the effectiveness of all professional development activities.

Supporting teachers in their specific professional development in collaboration with the unit of Faculty Affairs.

Participating in the annual evaluation of teachers in collaboration with the unit of Faculty Affairs.

In coordination with other TUELC units,

PD Unit serves as a driving force

for ushering in quality by working out intervention strategies to remove deficiencies and enhance excellence in teaching.
